The Summers in this movie is apparently supposed to be the brother of Scott Summers but Scott is a teenager in Wolverine in 1985 meaning he was born in roughly 1970ish. There could very easily have been a moment before the movie where the two of them meet or come into contact without realizing it until later In X-Men1 Prof X tells Wolverine that he met Magneto when he was 17 but in First Class he doesn't meet him until well into his 20's.
The same could be true of movie continuity In the comics Prof X has gained and loss the use of his legs many times. Because if not then wow that's just lazy.Īt the end of Wolverine we see Professor X walking and that movie takes place in about 1985 while First class takes place in 1962 and Professor X is paralyzed at the end of the movie. So I am going to have to assume it was a reboot with poorly planned but well played cameos of Wolverine and Mystique. In X2 there is a plot point where Magneto tells Stryker about Cerebro and he has this knowledge because he helped Xavier build it and yet in First Class, the first Cerebro is built by the CIA/Hank McCoy and it is Sebastian Shaw who develops the helmet that blocks telepathy which Magneto steals from him.I think Stryker is a mutant because in First Class he is old and grey (1962) in Wolverine he is young and no grey (1985) and in X2 2003 he is again old and grey.In the beginning of X-Men Last Stand we see Xavier and Eric meeting Jean Grey and trying to get her to go to the school but this would be inconsistent with the fact that Eric/Magneto leaves Xavier/Prof X at the end of First Class and again, Xavier was walking when he met Jean Grey.In X2 we see briefly Dr Hank McCoy on a television and he looks completely human in 2003 but in 1962 he apparently completely turns into Beast.She also had never previously met Xavier in Wolverine ('85) while they met mentally several times and she was telepathic in First Class ('62) Emma Frost was in both First Class and Wolverine, but she was a teenager in Wolverine and had no telepathy(Prof X telepathically talked with Scoot and she didn't sense him).Seems unlikely that there would be such a gap between them. He brother is in his 20s in First Class so he would be nearly 30 or so when Scott is born.
